First things first, I would like to thank you
all of the people who joined my first event. I was able to enjoy very precious
moments thanks to all. Now, I am writing the report 'The Invitation To Yamanaka
Lake' for all of the Jambo Family.
10.9 (Sat)
We decided to go to Yamanaka Lake
even though one of the biggest typhoons was coming. I had butterflies in my
stomach because it was the first time for me to have such a big event for Jambo
and, at the same time, was worried about the Chuou Highway being closed because
of the heavy storm (Most of the Jambo members were supposed to take a highway
bus from Shinjuku to Yamanaka Lake directly. The bus had to go along the Chuou
Highway.) I was thinking negatively that the event may unfortunately have to
be canceled. The participants might not be able to get transportation from their
own homes because of the heavy storm. However, whatever may come, I decided to
do my duties in order for us to have a good time during that period.
All of the sudden, I got a
call from one of the Jambo members at the Yamanaka Highway Bus Terminal, and my
heart started feeling easy. I made sure that we'd be able to have a great time
with everyone. Some of the people already reached Yamanaka Lake to prepare for a
few things in advance. The helpers were waiting for the rest of the guests from
the cottage, cooking a dinner of pumpkin soup and tomato pasta. It was quite
delicious and so well-prepared thanks to everyone's help.
10.10(Sun)
We woke up at seven o'clock in
the morning. Luckily, it stopped raining. We decided to go hiking on Mt
Miyoujin, 1288 meters above sea level. It took two hours to get there from the
cottage, and we saw very nice views around Yamanaka Lake and took in the fresh
air. We had sandwiches that the women made in the morning on the peak of Mt
Miyoujin. They were actually quite delicious. While we were going down the
mountain, I suddenly got a call from the manager of the cottage. He asked me to
move my car into the parking space. I had to go back to the cottage by myself.
And, after that, we joined together at the hot spring, which is the most
popular around Yamanaka Lake. We relaxed and felt so comfortable there because
we did not take a bath the previous night.
The party on the last night was
so exciting. We had alcohol, Oden and Houtou, which is a kind of Miso Udon. (One
of the most popular foods in Yamanashi Prefecture is Houtou.) We put fresh
vegetables and chicken into it. And, what's more, we did fireworks during the
party. Weather permitting, I planned to set off 400 fireworks into the night
sky of Yamanaka Lake. Unfortunately, it did not stop raining. We each talked
about our stories from the past instead because several of us had never met each
other before. We had a great time.
10.11(Mon)
It was a fine day. After having
breakfast, we went to the Yukio Mishima Museum, who is still now one of Japan's
famous writers. The museum traced the unique history of Yukio Mishima. He often
used to come to Yamanaka Lake when he was alive. New images came to his mind
through the sound of the waves, the blue sky and the magnificent natural
environment at Yamanaka Lake. It was so interesting. The Japanese website is
as follows:
After that, I sent off the guests
at the bus stop near the museum.
Finally, I was so happy that many
people came to my first event, even if one of the biggest typhoons in Japanese
recorded history was here. I did not expect so many people to join my event
because usually I haven't joined JAMBO events much. (I am so sorry and I will
try to join some from now.) I would like to say thanks to all of you who
supported me during that period. I would like to express sincere appreciation
to David Sensei and all of the well mannered guests from the bottom of my heart
again. Please remember, ladies and gentlemen, it is not merely the first event
for me in Jambo, but just the beginning for a more brilliant future for
Jambo as well. Hopefully, I would like to take many of the wonderful Jambo
members to very interesting places a few times a year. All I can do for the
wonderful JAMBO family is to take on duties little by little in order to provide
a wonderful future.
Are you ready to join the next
event? It's coming in the near future...
Many thanks to all
